This Part 2 of ABCDE is a great mini discussion of craft and the multitude of aspects to think about condensed into a great little guide. And you can use them and they are good to use or never need to, yet sometimes they can still be there. In an interview, Jack Reacher series author, Lee Child, said his editor really liked a particular scene in one book and how it was written but told him it might have been far more effective if it had been placed earlier in the story. "But that's not how it happened," Child replied. Child apparently always starts from 0 with nothing going on. There are such great examples of ABCDE in Reacher books. But Child approaches ABCDE indirectly through the story of which there is nothing at first and is a sort of genius that way. And your Part 2 ABCDE discussion allows for that kind of flexibility and practicality which sometimes too strict adherence to rules can sometimes close off a little. Any more or other ideas concerning ABCDE would be great anytime.
